The Film Project
The Film Project is a more recent addition to PeaceMaker’s mentoring projects. In a modern world where technology and media tools are becoming more easily accessible to an increasingly growing audience, it seems logical to offer young people the chance to use this technology as a tool for change.
PeaceMaker works with local young people giving them the opportunity to produce high quality films, which can be used as tools to advocate change in their communities. The project runs for twelve weeks and covers all aspects of filming and film making giving young people a level of competency within film making which allows them to do things for themselves.
Films have been developed covering a wide array of issues from communities developing stronger links between the younger and older generations to creating spaces where young people from all backgrounds can come together. PeaceMaker continues to work with the film medium to help young people to express what is important to them and bring it to the attention of a far wider audience.
