Key Stage 2 - Tell It Like It Is!
The idea for the ‘Tell it Like it is’ workshop emerged following a conversation between a member of PeaceMaker’s team and a child on St. George’s Day, 2000. The child felt he could not celebrate his own identity, as St. George’s Day had become such a contentious issue. PeaceMaker as a consequence designed several programmes of work in order to encourage citizenship and an understanding of different cultures and religions as well as to create a sense of belonging for all our children.
PeaceMaker has been running the Tell It Like It Is programme across Oldham since the launch event held at The Lowry Centre at Salford Quays on St. George’s Day, 2004. The workshop is for children at key stage two and is a full day programme of art, storytelling and drama activities. Learning can be continued at home through the use of our unique activity packs.
